Hi Arlene, this just goes to show that even sparrows are beautiful through the right lens. In fact some of these I have never seen before having spent most of my life on the East Coast of US.

Great Shots of the Sparrows.

Arlene, reading this post about moving cactus reminds me of our most recent move. Remember the tall cactus in Mom's yard in the relatively small pot? Mom bought it for me when I was probably 8 or 9, I'm guessing. That means it is about/almost 50 years old! It still bears the gunshot wound (bb gun) I gave it when in the teen years.
Yes, it has a place in the new yard.

26 species of butterflies - that's awesome! I have butterflies in my home garden that I love to watch but not a wide range of varieties of species like that. I guess you have to get out to a bigger area where there is a wider variety of nectar plants to see more species.

How do you plant a cactus? I think you know by now. I'd also like a guess as to how heavy they were. Sort of kidding but what a load of plants. I've gone to landscaping auctions here and filled up several trucks. I know what it takes. However I never dealt with cactus. Small ones we used to wrap with newspaper. But they were tiny in comparison. By now you're exhausted and excited all at once. I know you know how to take breaks and just live in the moment. You must do that now. How wonderful for you. A long time coming and now it's reality.

Hello Ms. Ripley.

I was looking for ID on some glowworms I found up in the Catalina mountains and stumbled across this blog. Just thought I would give you a minor correction...the fireworks on the 5th of July were actually put on by Old Tucson.

You were completely correct about the rain delaying the show...I was running the sound and lights for it and I was pretty much drowned..:)

Anyway, those are some great pictures and I enjoyed your site.

Thanks!
