Last year when we were there, we were in the throes of the deep freeze and all the ponds were iced over. Quite interesting to see the cranes and ducks skating over the ice. I never thought of keeping any lists, live or other, and I could have accumulated a nice one on my travels from the arctic to S New Zealand...But I should really update our 'home' list, adding a Black Hawk overflight last week and a lone Spotted Towhee in early December, and stray White-throated Swifts from the Santa Cruz River on Christmas day. Wow! I guess I shouldn’t say you are soooo lucky, because obviously you actively pursue those rarities. I am working on a solution but really have no clue as to why this is happening. Apparently I am not the only one having this problem.
